About us

Crafted Spaces is an Australian head contractor delivering fitouts, refurbishments, and new builds across QLD, NSW, VIC, and SA, for hospitality, retail, fitness, and commercial project teams.

Our story

Founded on site experience and shaped by what commercial projects actually demand

About image

Crafted Spaces was built on hands-on construction experience.

Our leadership spent years working across commercial sites before establishing the business, which means it was shaped by direct experience managing trades, solving site problems, coordinating services, and delivering under real program pressure.

That same discipline extends to the commercial side of every project.

From contract administration and cost management through to client coordination, the business side of delivery runs with the same rigour as the work on site.

Crafted Spaces was created to operate the way commercial construction should work: clear accountability, honest communication, and delivery that makes clients come back.

The business started with a single QSR client. That relationship grew through consistent results, and referrals followed from there.

Today Crafted Spaces delivers fitouts, refurbishments, and new builds for some of Australia's most recognised QSR, retail, and fitness brands across multiple states.

The growth has come without investor funding or an aggressive growth strategy. It has come through reliable delivery that won the next opportunity every time.

What we stand for

Principles that govern how we operate, not just what we say

Accountability over excuses

Every project has a named leader who owns the outcome. When issues arise, we address them directly rather than deflecting responsibility. Our clients always know who is accountable and who to contact.

Transparency before trust is earned

We provide clear cost reporting, documented variations, and weekly progress updates because we understand that trust is not assumed. It is earned through consistent visibility and honest communication.

Program discipline as standard practice

Timelines are not suggestions. We plan procurement early, sequence approvals before construction begins, and manage the critical path with the same rigour as the budget. Protecting your opening date is not a bonus. It is a baseline expectation.

Craftsmanship that outlasts the handover

We take pride in finishes and details that perform long after practical completion. Spaces should still look and function as intended years into operation, not just on handover day.

Relationships over transactions

The majority of our work comes from clients who have worked with us before. We do not chase volume. We focus on delivering at a standard that earns the next project.

How we work

The program protection framework

1

Clear scope from the start

We confirm exactly what is being built, site conditions, landlord requirements, and brand standards before final pricing. Getting this clear early reduces misunderstandings and helps prevent unnecessary cost changes later.

2

Approvals managed proactively

We coordinate building approvals and service requirements before construction begins. This helps avoid delays that can disrupt your timeline.

3

Early procurement planning

We plan materials and key trades around your construction timeline. This reduces last-minute decisions and helps keep the budget on track.

4

Controlled change management

During construction, experienced leaders oversee the site daily. If changes are required, they are priced and approved before work continues so there are no surprises.

Repeat partnerships

The strongest proof of how we operate is who keeps coming back

A significant portion of our active project pipeline comes from clients who have worked with us before.

Not because of contractual obligation. Because they chose to return.

These are development managers, operations teams, and franchise groups who have experienced our communication firsthand, seen how we handle site challenges, and measured our delivery against their program and budget expectations.

They came back because the experience matched the promise. We do not take that pattern for granted.

It shapes how we approach every new project and every new client relationship. The level of care that earned repeat trust is the same from day one. It is not reserved for existing relationships. It is how every project begins.

Testimonials

What our clients value in working with us

“We worked with Crafted Spaces on the build of our brewery and bar fitout at Ocean Reach Brewing in Cowes including the installation of our 1500L brewhouse. Building a brewery requires specialist knowledge and precision and their team clearly understands the unique requirements of brewing facilities. Having been involved in multiple brewery builds across Victoria I've seen how important it is to work with builders who don't cut corners. Crafted Spaces holds themselves to very high standards and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to build or fit out a brewery or hospitality venue.”

“Crafted Spaces and Shane Sandford did an incredible job in bringing this restaurant to life. It’s been a pleasure partnering with you to lift it from the pages and make it a reality. Someone said to me today, “It looks just like the renders…. Actually better!” And that response is one of countless that highlight your team's maniacal focus on the detail, functionality and personification of our brand. Crafted is now part of history, building the highest volume Wendy’s restaurant ever, anywhere in the world. Thank you!”
